Where is my data stored?

bimU.io is fully implemented and hosted within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. We’re currently using cloud resources hosted exclusively in the United States. All data is stored and processed with AWS services and resources. At all times, data remains within the AWS infrastructure until requested and downloaded by a user.

      Only IFC files can be downloaded back. For the models uploaded from BIM software, they are stored in a proprietary database format that can only be retrieved by the bimU.io online services.

      No. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) does not require EU data to reside in the European Union. We will continue to ensure compliance for EU personal data transfers outside of the EU.

      bimU.io can store and display 3D geometry, element information, model metadata, markup with saved viewpoint, etc.
    • How secure is my data on bimU.io?

      bimU.io is secure by default. Only the account owners have access to the models they upload to bimU.io initially. Upon sharing, they can set a password to protect each model individually. The main user interface gives an overview of which models have ...
